Performing Arts

I have enjoyed creative pursuits such as Dance and Theatre all through my school years. These artistic avenues have not only been sources of immense joy but have also imparted invaluable life lessons that form a part of my identity. They've shown me the beauty of self-expression and authenticity as we adapt in this constantly changing environment. My journey has encompassed learning Theatre and an Indian classical dance - Kathak across prestigious art schools in Singapore and performing at associated productions and events since 2015. These two art forms have allowed me to express emotions, tell stories, and share experiences while deepening my understanding of various community issues. They are a reflection of my personal journey, further enriching my growth.

Dance

Why walk when you can dance!! This was me ever since I started walking at the age of 9 months and couldn't get enough of the movie ‘happy feet’! Dancing has always been my passion. I have trained in classical Kathak dance for 7 years and also for 3 years in Bharatnatyam and have regularly performed on stage.

Classical dance has not only taught me graceful movements and expressions, it has enriched my life by nurturing discipline, dedication, and the importance of regular practice in achieving personal goals. Additionally, it has enabled me to connect with my cultural roots and its vibrancy. I was fortunate to receive training for Kathak under Guru Jyotika Joshi from Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS).

Beyond classical dance, I enjoy contemporary bollywood dancing and can never resist jiving to infectious melodies. Dancing is my joyful escape, a remedy for stress, and a channel to embrace my authentic self.

Kathak
(Indian Classic Dance)

Having trained in and performed Kathak for years, I am proud to share my dance journey with anyone interested in exploring this traditional form of Indian classical dance. Through dedicated practice, I have refined my craft, allowing me to bring to life the soulful stories and tales shared through this dance form. Whether you’re a young aspiring dancer or an enthusiast who simply wants to learn more about Kathak dance, I am thrilled to share my experience and knowledge with you.

Modern Dance

As a modern dancer, I believe that there is no boundary to what the body can express and achieve. I am dedicated to exploring the creativity and beauty of movement and bringing it to life on stage. My passion for dance started at a young age, and over the years, I have honed my skills and developed my style. Every performance is an opportunity to embody an idea, a feeling, or a message in motion.

Theatre

Introduced to theatre by my dad, I developed a liking for it as it has allowed me to explore storytelling through portrayal of diverse characters. Starting with monologues, I have performed in more than 10 stage productions covering a range of characters - from playing “Helena” in Shakespear’s A Midsummer Night's Dream to portraying “Squealer” in Animal Farm (based on the novel written by George Orwell - a satire against communism).
